The Verdugo Consortium, serving the cities of Glendale, Burbank, and La Cañada Flintridge, is administered by the City of Glendale through a joint powers agreement.  The Verdugo Consortium is governed by the Verdugo Workforce Development Board (VWDB).  

The VWDB is hosting a forum for the Los Angeles Basin Regional Planning Unit to solicit public comment and recommendations on the Regional Plan.

Judith Velasco, Director of the Verdugo Workforce Development Board,  was a presenter on the STEPS to Employment Training Panel in Sacramento today. Joining her were Senator Anthony Portantino; Glendale Community College Board of Trustee Member, Tony Tartaglia; Dr. Michael Ritterborwn, Vice President of Instructional Services at Glendale Community College (and Verdugo Board Member); Kim Edelman, Executive Director of the Professional Development Center of GCC and Karine Grigoryan, Executive Director of the Glendale Youth Alliance.

Speaker Highlight: Wednesday morning’s talks on October 11 will kick off the theme “A Startup Journey” with powertalks from impressive entrepreneurs. Look forward to hearing from Ara Mahdessian, CEO and Co-Founder of ServiceTitan. ServiceTitan is a Glendale-based provider of business software for home service businesses. They have successfully secured Series A & B funding and were named a Rising Star in Forbes Cloud 100 Top Companies.

Panel Highlight: Wednesday afternoon hear about How the Sharing Economy is Shaping Fin-Tech with a panel of participants including Katherine McLain of Stripe, Barney Santos of Gentefy, and Amy Wan of Bootstrap Legal with moderator Armen Vartanian.
